Assessment workflow terms
Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
Assessment | The full container for questions, answer keys, settings, grading, and sharing. |
Needs review | A submission state that still needs teacher judgment before it should be treated as final. |
Completed | The grading run is finished inside Classwise, but the result may not be visible to students yet. |
Published | The current graded revision has been pushed through the publish path, usually to the LMS. |
Emailed | The current graded revision has been sent directly to the student by feedback email. |
Completion grading | An additional effort-based score path that can sit alongside accuracy grading. |
Notes
- Use these terms together with the status badges you see on the assessment table or single-student grading page before you decide what to do next.
- Default grading instructions (under Profile) are used to pre-fill Special instructions for AI (optional) when you create an assessment; the grader reads whatever ended up saved on the assessment. See Default grading instructions in Profile for the full explanation.
Integration and admin terms
Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
LMS sync | Bringing in classes, rosters, assessments, or submissions from a connected LMS. |
Pool credits | Institution-managed shared credits used across members instead of personal balances. |
Focus areas | Analytics signals that highlight concepts worth reteaching or revisiting. |
Time saved | A modeled estimate of grading efficiency, not a literal stopwatch total. |
Notes
- Use these definitions when you are deciding whether a question belongs in teacher docs, billing docs, analytics docs, or the institution admin area.
