Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to help you get started faster, grade with confidence, and choose the right plan.
Getting Started
Do you offer a free trial?
Absolutely. Teachers can start with a free trial to test assessment workflows, rubric setup, and feedback quality before choosing a paid plan.
What's included in each plan?
Each tier includes core assessment and feedback tools, with higher tiers adding larger limits, LMS automation, analytics, and expanded support.
How long does setup take?
Setup typically takes about 3-5 minutes by connecting your LMS or uploading assignments, then applying or generating a rubric.
Can I grade without connecting an LMS?
Yes. Upload PDFs, images, or docs in batches, assign submissions to your roster, and export or share feedback when you are ready.
Assessment & Rubrics
What kinds of assignments can Classwise assess?
It supports essays, short answers, and multi-step math across STEM and humanities subjects.
How does Classwise handle partial credit for multi-step work?
Classwise evaluates each step against your rubric criteria, then assigns points and feedback based on demonstrated reasoning and method accuracy.
What happens when the AI is unsure?
When confidence is lower, Classwise highlights the response so teachers can review quickly before finalizing scores or feedback.
Can I use my own rubric?
Yes. Your rubric keeps scoring and feedback aligned to your class expectations.
Integrations
Which LMS platforms does Classwise support?
Classwise supports Google Classroom, Canvas, Microsoft Teams, and Moodle so you can sync rosters and assignments and publish scores and feedback quickly.
Can Classwise auto-assess and auto-publish to my LMS?
Yes. On supported plans, you can automate assessment and publishing workflows back to your LMS.
Can I review and override grades before publishing?
Always. Teachers stay in control and can review, edit, or override scores and comments before anything is shared.
Students & Feedback
How do students see exactly why they earned a score?
Students get rubric-aligned feedback that breaks down what they did well, what needs improvement, and what to fix next.
How do students receive their scores and feedback?
Teachers can share feedback in three ways: download a report and share it with students, send students a direct feedback link, or publish scores and feedback straight to LMS platforms like Google Classroom, Canvas, Microsoft Teams, and Moodle so students receive results in the same LMS where they submitted work.
How does Student Tutor work?
After students receive feedback, Student Tutor helps them understand comments, work through missed steps, and practice similar problems from the same assessment context.
Do students need their own Classwise account?
No. Students stay where they already do their work, whether that's on paper or in your LMS, and they don't need to sign up for anything new.
Can students access feedback on mobile devices?
Yes. Students can view feedback on mobile devices, and the experience is designed to be clear and easy to navigate.
Can parents or guardians view feedback?
Yes. Parents and guardians can view feedback when they have access to the feedback link shared with the student.
How should families use AI feedback at home?
A simple routine works well: celebrate one strength, pick one improvement area, then do a short revision together. This keeps feedback practical and low stress.
Does AI replace teacher judgment?
No. Teachers always review and edit scores and feedback before sharing results with students.
Security & Compliance
Is Classwise FERPA and COPPA compliant?
Yes. Classwise is FERPA/COPPA compliant for schools & districts.
How does Classwise protect student and teacher data?
Classwise is built with secure access controls and modern data protection practices designed for school environments.

How does School/District pricing work?

Do you accept purchase orders for schools and districts?
Yes. We support school and district procurement workflows, including purchase orders.
Is it better for schools to pay for teacher access, or for teachers to pay out of pocket?
School-funded access is usually best so every teacher can benefit and no one is left behind. It also unlocks smoother onboarding, centralized administration, and priority SLA-backed support.
